Sharan Jackson

I’m intrigued by the reflective, translucent and three-dimensional qualities of glass and the way its appearance changes with the available light. I work in fused or cast glass decorating each piece with glass powders and frits, enamels, Glassline pens, metal oxides, wire and foils which, when fired, form interesting colours, bubbles and textures. My love of plants, trees and the natural landscape is a theme which is often featured in my work. As well as decorative panels, framed wall-hung artwork and free-standing cast sculptural forms my pieces can also be slumped in the kiln to create decorative platters, dishes and bowls. Each piece is unique.
