Mary Sidey
I have always enjoyed drawing/painting from a young age and was encouraged by my mum who was a graphic artist, producing images of the latest fashions for the newspaper advertisements back in the 1950’s.
I was lucky enough to be able to do drawing work as a career but have also attended many evening art courses over the years.
The drawing board is now stored away gathering dust, as drawing is now generally computer based, which can be challenging at times particularly the new 3D packages. This makes a hobby of painting even more enjoyable, although not always relaxing, I have generally only used watercolour although have tried other media, like charcoal, gouache but never pastels, oils or acrylics, another skill to master!
